Business Development Manager - Waikato Region


Corys Electrical is looking for an ambitious person with an eye for detail who enjoys interacting with other people to join our Sales Team within the Waikato areas. Our ideal candidate is someone capable of growing business in a competitive environment who brings their hard-work and passion to work every day. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to provide technical product assistance, project management to customers and wider branch network. 

For that, you must demonstrate that you have the technical background to be able to develop solutions and the people skills to work alongside first-rate technical staff and work in partnership with the marketing, category and sales teams.  We are looking for someone with initiative, determination and self-motivation who enjoys dealing with people and understands the nature of working within a team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Generate sales that build on our customer base; Exceed monthly targets to ensure gross profit is maximised
  • Model a strong sales culture; liaise with the sales and branch network to ensure desired customer service is being met
  • Assist in the development and preparation of sales budgets; monthly forecast reports; and sales plans
  • Effectively plan strategies which cover all your areas of responsibility and future business opportunities
  • Keep abreast on market trends, and competitor activity; use market intelligence to identify opportunities to create growth
  • Report and analyse key accounts
  • Identify operational performance gaps, implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Liaise confidently with staff to coordinate sales activities

What you’ll bring

  • We need someone who can lead from the front, so we are looking for at least 3-5 years (B2B/B2C) sales and account management experience
  • You will need to be able to communicate at a high level in order to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • We need someone who is solution focused and can problem solve
  • You will need a strong understanding of financial management
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Excel
  • Positive attitude with a can-do approach
